There are many candidates fighting election who have criminal cases registered against them.take a look at some such candidates in standing in General Election 2009.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate for Varanasi, Mukhtar Ansari, will be contesting from jail. Ansari has five cases of murder, four charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and extortion against him.

Another BSP candidate for Lok Sabha elections, Dhananjay Singh, who is contesting from Jaunpur has four counts of murder, six counts of attempted murder, kidnapping and criminal intimidation against him.

These are just two of the over 70 candidates with criminal records against them whose names will be on the ballot this year.

    Does India not deserve better?

There are most of the criminals which can fight in the LokSabha Election. According to my view criminals can not fight in the election. If can one of the case are run in the court, the election comitty can not allow him to fight in the election.

criminals in politics must be prohabited

criminals join politics to gain influence and ensure that cases against them are dropped or not proceeded in courts...but all political parties are doing the same at the moment..so as to win in the elections by their populartiy..

    Shameless

Politicians are shameless. They do not have their own character and spoils the face of the country as a whole. They are eating up the amount which is meant for the welfare of the society. This is pity on indian Politicians that they have criminal cases registered after them and still they are standing in the elections.
