creation of just and fair society

Creation of just and fair society is the aim of all the progress made by human being. however it is seen that mere technological progress does not ensures creation of better society . there are other issues which has to be taken care.
With just and fair society I mean a society in which there are neither rich nor poor, neither masters nor masters men, neither idle nor over worked, neither brain sick brain worker nor heart sick hard worker, in a society where all men would be living in equality of condition and managing their affairs
And if you sit quietly and reflect you will realize that every moment of existence and every endeavor of human being is motivated to fulfill one of the three basic drives of self preservation, self perpetuation and self expression. Everything which human being do or avoid to do is guided by this deep desire of self preservations self perpetuation and self expression.
And it is with the aim to fulfill those basic needs in meaning full way and to create conducive environment in which he can realize his basic needs that human being has created elaborate social heritage. This social heritage becomes the carrier of fundamental beliefs and give him an opportunity to create customs traditions and social institutions which facilitate them to fulfill their basic needs in efficient way.

Many of our social institutions, customs and traditions started as social habits which helped people to accomplish their desired results in best possible way but we need to remember , that any given institution or custom is efficient at the time it originates and at latter time as life conditions changes they become outdated and inadequate.
These social institution can be broadly classified in to group: one group is related with social institution which controls means of production like methods of agriculture, industries, trade, commerce, private property etc and second group is related with institution which determine how the products of human labor will be shared among human being these institution normally include, method of governance, economic policies, social security schemes, political and religious bodies etc.


A harmony between these two groups of social intuition in necessary for creation of fair and just society

Friends human civilization has started it’s journey about ten thousands year ago by producing fire after rubbing stones and today man is able to produce the heat which can be equaled the heat produced by sun, he invented potters wheel to began with and today his mode of transport include planes which can take him to any part of the earth within 24 hours, he began with domesticating animals and today he has created robots to serve him. He learned to cover him self with skin of animals and today he wear the finest of cloths.


There has been tremendous progress the way man controls the method of production but beliefs and values controlling the distribution of fruits of human labor has not changed much.


The ideas by which we govern our society has got it’s origin in oldest society of India and Greek, the system of dispensing justice has been based on roman society of 12th century. Our education system was envisioned by Macaulay during 1830, our concept of family and private property has not changed much in last 500 years.
Today there is vast gap between progress of science and technology and the way our institutions govern us. Most of innovations in political and economical philosophy have their origin way back in 18th century whether it is concept of private property, capitalism, or democracy. the governing class put their tremendous power into maintenance of thing as they are because they believe their interest are linked with preserving the status quo in social institutions.


Today the best method of governance available in the word is democracy. this form of government was prevalent thousands year back in some part of India and Greek. There has hardly been any modification in this form of government since last 200 years. We have seen how so called best form of government is inadequate to create a society which reflects the true sentiments of people. People’s representative ignore the wish and desire of the people once they reach in parliament after election and enact the laws which protects the interest of selected few groups.
Have you ever wondered why in spit of tremendous growth in science and industries we are not able to ensure each man with basic necessities? Today world has more than enough resources to accelerate progress in human development for all and to eradicate the worst form of poverty from our planet. Advancing human development is not an exorbitant undertaking for example it has been estimated that total additional yearly investment required to achieve universal access of basic social services would roughly be $40 billion. Which is only .1% of world GDP and it will cover the bill for basic education, health, nutrition, reproductive health, family planning safe drinking water and sanitation for all.

If you ponder you will find that the root cause of our problem is not that we lack resources but it is because the inadequacy of thoughts and beliefs which are controlling its utilization and distribution
First fundamental belief which has been reinforced by our social institutions since eternity, and which has caused maximum damage to humanity at every epoch of the history is the belief which equates the worth of individual by the private property he possess. The seed of this belief were sown at the beginning of human civilization where it was necessary for individuals to have adequate possession so that he can survive even in most unpredictable whether conditions, in the medieval period this belief was institutionalized by declaring that the man who has more wealth is having the sanction of god and he need to be respected. During 18th century this idea was further reinforced by making private property legal and development of capitalistic form of society.

Every individual have been taken into possession by this belief. The aim of life has become to earn private property by any means; people have become self centered, with motives to exploit others and to accumulate wealth even by violating ethical and legal means.


This belief has infected and weekend all other social institution which are necessary to create good society. Today families are breaking because money has become more important than relationship. Leaders, instead of serving society, are plundering the money. Religious institution are not promoting spirituality rather they are being used as a means for earning money. Our industries are not focusing on increasing productivity of commodities most essential for survival of man rather they focus on increasing productivity of consumable for people who can purchase. Traders inflate prices and control supply so that they can sell commodities at higher price and maximize their profit. Educational institutions are not promoting right education and creating better human being rather they are earning money and creating money earning humans. Our judiciary is dispensing justice in favor of money.


Friends, second fundamental belief which has been reinforced by our institutions since down of the civilization and has caused maximum damage to humanity is man’s desire to prove him self and his ideology superior and more capable than others. , it is this belief which has caused all the war, all religious intolerance, hatred and zealously is rooted in his desire to prove others inferior or incorrect.


Friends it is dominance of human psyche by these two social beliefs which are at the root of all social and personal problems. Whether it is corruption, law and order, terrorism, wars, social inequality, intolerance, work place inefficiency or even price raise. At individual level these beliefs are prompting people to lead a life which is based on wrong values, when man lives a life which violates fundamental principals of life he will fail to lead a meaning full life.

Society can not escape from the clutches of these defective beliefs unless until there is complete structural change in the institution which are reinforcing these beliefs, whether it is the way we govern our society, the way we control our economy, the way we interact with others in family and in society, the way we bring up our children or the meaning we give to our life.


today our scientific power has out run the spiritual power; man have guided missiles and unguided people. Today man do not need further progress in the field of science and technology except in the field of medicine and energy conservation . Man has already learned enough to produce everything required for comfortable survival of humanity. Progress in this field will not be able to create a just and fair society rather it will further widen the gap between the means of production and ways of distribution. What man require more than anything else today is the combination of social inventor, those who can bring our social institutions and social thinking updated by devising new and better forms of government, legal procedures, moral codes and improved educational system. We need to put our best brains not in the field of engineering or management but in the field of social and political arena. We need not put our best brains to see wars are fought efficiently but to ask them to find out ways to avoid the wars


At the end I want to close my speech by a very famous quote of Einstein, he says: the world has achieved the brilliance but without wisdom, power without conscience, our is a world of nuclear giant and ethical infants

 

Creation of just and fair society is the need of the hour in India. It is important to have a society where justice is equal for all and there is no discrimination on the basis of caste, sex, religion, language, etc. Everyone should be treated equally and everyone should be given equal status and equal opportunity. Having a fair and just society will help in solving many issues that the country is facing today.

 

Definitely, India needs a just and fair society, a society that is free from all social evils, discrimination etc. By having a just and fair society, India will be able to progress and develop. It will create equality among the citizens and this will help in removing the bitterness that people have in the mind against one another. My question is how to create a just and fair society?

 

Creation of a just and fair society is the need of the hour. Indian society is facing a lot of issues due to the existence of many social issues. Social reforms can make the society a better place to live. We still live in a society that does not offer equal opportunity and treatment to all but we need it to keep our vast nation united. Thus creation of just and fair society has become important in India.
