According to the new global study, education system in India is stalled in corruption and a soaring pace of teacher malingering which was a main cause for it. The UNESCO’s International Institute of Educational Planning study on corruption in education released of late says that 25% teacher malingering in India is amid the highest in the world, second only after Uganda that has a higher rate. The overall average of teacher malingering is about 20%. This issue needs to be addressed as early as possible.

Corruption in the education sector distorts efficiency and quality parameters. It makes High quality education out of reach for middle class and under privileged students.Though the Nation is envisioning education as a driver of growth still corruption in the academic bodies has reached its heights and this will not bring the expected dividends if corruption in the regulatory bodies continues unabated.

Corruption is so prevalent today, that it has not even spared the education system. It has actually brought down the quality and the standard of education in India. Teaching is supposed to be one of the noble professions but corruption has ruled over it like any other professions today. Corruption in the education system has become a hindrance to the growth and development of the nation. It is a major issues that needs to be resolved at an earliest.

The Indian Education system is deteriorating day by day and it is mainly due to corruption in the system. It is quite sad that education being the most important element for progress of a nation, is itself drowning in corruption. The educational institutes have turned into money making instruments and not something to impart proper education. Moreover, today, teachers are appointed by taking bribes or the ones who have high level contacts and not on the basis of educational qualification. If the country actually wants to progress, then it is important to remove corruption especially from the education system.

The present education system has been destroyed by corruption in the system. The growth in the Education sector has been quite notable since the time of Independence. However, the present education system is ruled by corruption. This has downgraded the quality of education in India and it is really shocking to know that 25% teacher malingering in India.

Every system in India is corrupt and education system is no exception to it. Corruption in the education has deteriorated the quality of education in India. Most of the institutes today take high capitation fees during admission and many institutes are bogus as well. The education system is getting more and more corrupt day by day and this is a reason for downfall of the education system.

It is not just education sector, Corruption is everywhere is India, in every sector no matter whether its government or private. Root cause of the corruption is low quality of life, bureaucrats and politicians. Laws are there but no one cares because people at the top are corrupt. Wish to see a corruption free India!!
