Emotions organizes our behavior pattern in each and every step of our life. It is the most important part of our living. No emotions implies no feelings and no existence as a whole. Emotion regulation is the most important thing every individual must learn to sustain in the world of sentiments. It is very easy on the part of a person to advice another on controlling rage and anger; but its hard to put into real actions. So, control over emotions can be gained by shifting your attention of focus to something appealing you; manipulating and modifying the situation. Most importantly have a grip on your type of response to any kind of situation.

As my fellow member mentioned, I repeat - emotions are the highs and lows of everyday lives and that affects the most part of our well-being. However there is a requirement of regulating flow of the same because it not only decides how we are perceived by people around us but also maintains the decorum of your public performance. It is upto us how we let our personality influence the rest - whether we seem approachable or distant, a lot depends on our attitude that is reigned by emotions.

So to basically have a control over the same, one could follow some of these tips -

    1. Never react immediately. Keep calm and think twice before speaking.
    2. Find a source of diversion of thoughts.
    3. Start backward counting if you need to practise anger management skills.
    4. Find a healthy outlet instead of venting out your anger on someone else. Don't take any help of destructive means.

  3. Emotions plays a vital role in every individual. Some emotional responses require no particular regulation. If the emotion is appropriate to the situation and helps you feel better, there’s no need to worry about changing the way you handle things. By preparing yourself ahead of time, you’ll find that the problematic emotion goes away before it interferes with your life. Being able to alter your thoughts and reactions will build your confidence in your own ability to cope. With practice, you’ll be able to turn negatives into positives, and, each time, gain emotional fulfillment.
