It has got to be stated at the very outset that the consumer protection law along with consumer rights and consumer court have been playing (ever since induction) in the Indian scenario. Thanks to all these, Indian consumers (even though several rooms for development are there still) have realized that they can also play important roles and thwart business house or businesspersons with sinister designs. Now let’s focus in few developments. It is getting prominent that Indian consumers, owing to the said developments, are no more ready to accept services and quality that are not equal to the amount they paid.

Nevertheless, more rooms for development are there still (as already said) and the fault remains with the ignorance of common consumers in the realm of India. If you are also one of them and are yet to comprehend the true roles of consumer protection law in conjunction with consumer rights and consumer court, got through the following lines.

Consumer courts, by now, have become essential component of the Indian judiciary system; it does cater to a range of consumer accusations together with difference of opinions. These courts have been established in order to save the rights of consumers from harm, and also to standardize the system in order that just prices with conduct of manufacturers to the clients become a reality without ado. This, at the same time, does also make certain that the value of products along with services consumers receive from businesses and retail merchants remain just.

Since we are focusing on India at the moment, we have to discuss the same to a greater extent. As far as India is concerned, there happens to be three sorts of consumer courts differing on the value of cases. There is a national level court that does work with cases having a nationwide scope, handles grievances worth 1 crore. While the state level court works with cases having a statewide scope, and copes with cases worth under Rs. 1 crore, the district level consumer court handles cases worth (maximum level) Rs. 20 lacs only.

This new face of law is certainly blessing the consumers of India. Rather these laws are awakening the consumers of India and helping them to fight for the rightful cause. Earlier there were no place for the consumer to go and show their dissatisfaction, but now the court door are always opened for them to walk in for the justice. This has also broken the backbone of manufacturers and companies monopoly and now they too have to bend in front of consumers.

well this is a happy news for the consumers but not many are aware of this rights endowed to them. it is in good interest of the consumers that they can lodge case against a business firm if they are not satisfied with the product. and the firm will have to answer back or pay back. this eliminates the discrimination of consumers to buy products at high prices with downgraded products.

yes, i agree that having a consumer court is worth praising because in country like india not everything can be made into practical use as people here are yet to develop. the best thing about this there is an toll free number on which any one can call up and address their grievances.

Consumer rights in India would surely enable consumers have a fair deal with the manufacturers of products or companies giving their services. Such rights into new directions surely demarcates the advancement of India towards a developed nation where there are ample number of rights for a citizen which can be practiced to have a fair living in the country.

Indeed consumer rights and court are making Indian consumers smarter as it offers remedies against breach of consumer rights by the manufactures and sellers of goods and services. It is helping the consumers to fight for their rights and this is making India a truly democratic nation, which allows people to know their rights and fight for it under the provisions of law.
