Now a days Consumer awareness has become an important issue because many companies are flouting laws and manufacturing low grade products and sell them at higher prices. Consumers are being forced to buy such products at some times due lack of availability of other options. There consumer is bestowed with rights to make a call against low grade or deteriorated products and to practice such rights Consumer awareness in India has to be promoted.
Consumer awareness has now become a matter of concern as there are numerous hoax companies looming, selling their defective goods and deficient services. Consumer Protection Act, 1986 was enacted to protect the consumers from being cheated by such companies. Although there is an Act to protect and help the consumers from being embittered, due to lack of enough awareness amid the consumer it is not able to act accordingly. Media plays a vital role in spreading awareness amongst the consumers.
