RBI (The Reserve Bank of India) is considering on suggestions from people across the nation to put pictures of other legendary figures other than Mahatma Gandhi on Indian currency notes. Since 1997, Mahatma Gandhi glorifies every denomination of currency note, which was there only on Rs.500 note before that. Being the father of the Nation, he had the privilege to be on the currency notes by replacing the pillar of Ashoka. Now, RBI has moved on to commemorating other leaders who had played great role in shaping India and fought for the freedom of our country. It is a remarkable initiative of RBI that it is considering printing currency notes with leaders other than Mahatma Gandhi. There are many recommendations like Chandra Shekhar Azad, Chatrapati Shivaji, Bhagat Singh, Shubhas Chandra Bose, Asfaq-Ullah Khan, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Balabh Bhai Patel.

In my view the picture of Bhagat Singh and Shubhash Chandra Bose deserves more to be on the currency notes if RBI really wants to commemorate the sacrifices made by people who actually played a great role in shaping the nation and fought for freedom for our Nation.

If you really wish to see legends like Bhagat Singh and Shubhas Chandra Bose on Indian currency note then please do comment.

The decision of RBI to put pictures of other legendary figures in our currency note is appreciable. It will be a tribute to those leaders who have sacrificed their lives for the nation and helped in shaping the nation. The legends like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose should be given priority because their sacrifice for the nation is immeasurable. I would definitely like see the pictures of Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose on Indian currency notes.

The picture of legends like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose in the Indian currency note will be a great honour to the legends as well as will be a tribute to their contribution towards India's freedom struggle. Mahatma Gandhi has enjoyed the privilege of being in the Indian currency notes for a long time and the decision of adding other legends by the RBI is commendable and I am in support of printing currency notes with the pictures of legends like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose.
