China is on the verge of overhauling its public transport system. It has recently announced the opening of world's longest subway system which would include 4 lines taking a total length of about 442 km which exceeds the 400km length of Shanghai and London. It has also announced that it would give tax benefits, fuel subsidies and special electricity consumption rates to Public transport operators. This would help promote public transport in China. Can India also look out for such a step?
