The book Chanakya’s Chant by Ashwin Sanghi is a perfect mix of Chanakya’s Bharat and today’s India. It is a thriller which establishes that Chanakya’s neetis are significant even today as they were in his time. The book escorts the readers straight into 340BC where Chanakya, a Brahmin youth swears revenge for the dreadful death of his father by the King of Magadh, Dhanananda. The book depicts the present day India where politicians follow the four mantras that Chanakya believed in Saam, daam, dand, bhed (Equality, enticement, punishment and sowing dissension). The book is interesting and is a well set political thriller that is capable of engaging the readers till the end of it.
