A Group of Ministers today addressed the Indian media over the proposed fast of Anna Hazare from 16 August 2011

Ambika Soni said that the proposed Lokpal Bill would not end all corruption in India. Taking a dig at the social activist Anna Hazare, Ambika asked whether Anna Hazare would provide a guarantee that all corruption in India would end once the Lokpal Bill is passed. "Anna Hazare and his team are misleading the nation."

"The right to protest does not mean a right to protest at the place of your choice", Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal said. "Rights come with corresponding responsibility," Sibal said.

Kapil Sibal said that Anna is a publicity seeker and wants to be covered by TV and news media. He also said that the Team Anna's outrage against the Prime Minister is completely unjustified.

Replying to the charges of the govt being undemocratic, Sibal said that no one is more undemocratic than Team Anna.

"Who is financing Anna Hazare's campaign?" Kabil Sibal asked.

"So far as the Constitution is concerned, it is the state authority to make laws and not a third authority. Nobody can be compelled that a law has to be drafted as per his or her desire. It is for Parliament to decide," finance minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters in Kolkata.

"And what Anna Hazare is doing is akin to challenging the constitutional authority of Parliament which is not acceptable," the finance minister said a day after Hazare, who had sought Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's intervention over the conditions imposed for his indefinite fast from August 16, was snubbed by the PM and told to approach the Delhi Police.

Ofcourse no law can garauntee end of corruption. I believe Anna has right to protest but not the right to create law. Writing law is parliament's responsibility, though creating awareness about a bill which he thinks is inadequate is well within Anna's rights. The only problem I see in creating laws civil-society ways, is how shall we resolve conflicts? Here is an article which should give perspective to this view: MyExpressions: Aruna Roy, Team Anna and lawmaking...

Anna's Call Against Corruption. Anna Hazare, in his fight against corruption was detained by Delhi Police, as he was set for fast in demand of a strong Lokpal Bill. Even responding to Anna's call, his supporters courted arrests in Mumbai, and protests against Anna's detention gained momentum across Maharashtra, Delhi, and other cities in india too.

Jan lokpal bill was issued in 1960's. But till now it is not passed in lok sabha because practically lokpal bill is completely against political leaders. Lokpal bill means governments’ officials are completely left free to investigate any political leader without any prior permission from government. This is why government playing drama instead of passing the bill. I am sure that the day this bill is passed will be the starting of the fight against corruption.

Anna Hazare Credited Indian People. Will it end corruption is bit tough to say right now. Anna Hazare credited Indian people for his victory over Indian Government, he thanked thousands of people across India who headed to streets in totally non-violent manner for the noble cause. Kejriwal anna's associate, attacked Government for arrest of Anna and his associates and then deciding their release within hours.

I think no one can give a guarantee and it will only end when we will stop giving and stop accepting bribes.............and that depends on upbringing and morale character.

Anna Determined To Stop Corruption In India. Anna though no longer a prisoner, still refuses to leave Tihar Jail, until he gets permission to fast on his own terms. The 74 year old said he isn't feeling tired. He was excited by widespread support expression across India, Anna's hunger-strike would continue from Delhi's Ramlila ground as authorities give in.
