As per Cable TV Networks (Regulators) Amendment Bill, 2011, it has become mandatory for the cable operators to digitize the cable tv network. This would be started from the metros and later to the rest of the nation. People can now enjoy enhanced picture quality and sound quality along with video on demand. The viewers can now pay only for what they watch and it is also believed that this Bill will prevent Local cable operators from taking undue advantage by fixing high prices.
