It’s true that most of the Indian students aspire to be bureaucrats to earn much money. Whereas the salary of the bureaucrats are even lower than many executives working in private companies. So, where will the money come from in the lavish lifestyle of the bureaucrats? Corruption is the answer. Before becoming bureaucrat, it’s in the minds of most of the bureaucrats that they would have to do corruption to earn sufficient money.

If this is the tradition, how can we think of the developments of our country? The money to be used for the development of our country is being misused by the bureaucrats.

What I personally feel that the salary of the bureaucrats must be higher so that they can maintain the standard of living without doing any corruption. With the money that they get, it’s difficult to maintain a basic standard of living. So, many bureaucrats who are not willing to get involved in corruptions, are compelled to do corruption because of necessity. Otherwise, they will not be able to buy a house in a city, they will not be able to buy a luxury car, they will not be able to send their children to a prestigious school. Even after being at the helm of the administration of our country, they cannot afford the basic luxury of life. What’s the value of their salary.

Is there any other way to eradicate corruption in India amongst the bureaucrats?

yes i agree with the point that bureaucrats need a hike in their salaries. since bureaucrats are at a higher post they need certain standard of living. due to underpayment they tend to go corrupt but this is not so in all the cases. some are purposely corrupt who come into the job to assimilate money. such people should be culled out.

    Bureaucracy and Corruption

The salary structure of the bureaucrats should be revised. It is pretty low, as compared with their position. The entire corruption is based because the salaries of all government employees are very low, and apart from their salary they do not get any extra favors from government. Considering the price rise of edibles and basic living it is very difficult for a government employee, to even provide basic necessities to their families. All this compels them to become corrupt and this in return affects India’s status.

i think gov must try this option even.. by hiking the salaries of bureaucrats.. but i don't think this would solve the complete problem.. still they would be greedy to loot money as they would have such powers. instead gov could be more vigilant by appointing special task force to keep an eye on corruption of bureaucrats and politicians

Corruption paves way to earn a lot of money for the bureaucrats. their salary is nothing but the lavish life style they live is of course the result of corruption in many ways.

The Political Turbulence- With Congress as the ruling party,India has seen a lot of growth and corruption in the last one year. One of the best examples of the political instability being the passing of the Lokpal Bill. The Lokayukt has also now been
appointed by the government in Karnataka to absolve political corruption issues.

Nowadays bureaucracy and corruption have become synonymous. White collar crimes have increased rapidly. Corruption is one of its kinds. The bureaucrats are more indulged into activities like corruption as they maintain a particular life style that requires a massive amount of wealth which is not possible to be maintained with the salary they receive. The Government should take necessary steps and increase the salary of the bureaucrats and help bring an end to corruption.

Bureaucracy and corruption goes hand in hand. Corruption has spread its wings all over and not a single sector has been spared. Bureaucrats are today more involved in corruption to maintain a certain standard of life which a hefty amount of money which is not always possible with the salary that is given to them by the Government. It is the duty of the Government to give them salary that is sufficient in order to end corruption.

Bureaucracy and corruption are the two sides of the same coin. With bureaucracy comes corruption. Corruption, bureaucracy and incompetence is holding India back from progressing. It is leading to several issues that India is facing today. Bureaucrats are labeled as covetous, corrupt , draining off public funds and takes bribes for their own personal gain. While bureaucrats are often in a position to misuse their governmental powers, the connection between bureaucracy and corruption is not as straightforward as it primarily appears to be. Government needs to become vigilant and make laws to stop corruption by the government officials.

Corruption has clutched its clause hard on bureaucracy. Corruption in bureaucracy is white collar crime and it is a very common practice among the bureaucrats. It is mainly due to the power that is given to the bureaucrats in administration of the nation which makes them corrupt. However, there are very few bureaucrat who are not corrupt but the word corruption best fits with bureaucracy.
