Brick Lane by Monica Ali is a debut novel by the author and offers an amazing and captivating read. The novel brings the immigrant milieu of East London to vibrant life with great poignancy. The author lights up a foreign world; her well-developed characters pull readers along on an intensely emotional, more or less spiritual journey. The book is an interesting read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It is a page turner and the emotions are very well described by the author.
