Indian Retail Industry is considered to be the fifth largest in the world which is a fantastic achievement in the Indian retail sector. And the retail industry id India is growing by leaps and bounds every day. However the retail industry in any country depends upon the consumers’ habit and choices of buying the items and materials.

So many mall centers have developed the mall and chopping cutlers in India and as a result of this the Indian retail industry is booming in mall, shopping centers and retailing shops all over India these days. Annual Global Retail Development Index (GRDI) has said that the retail industry in India will soon emerge the largest and the biggest industries in India.

By the end of 2010 Indian retail industry is expected to reach the mark of worth US$ 700 billion according to North-bride Capita’s report. Pantaloon is having one the biggest retailing chain of malls in India. Pantaloon’s headquarters is in Mumbai. There are so many retailing groups in India like Tata group, RPG group, reliance, AV Birla group and many more.

The are so many segments of Indian retail industry like Consumer Electronics, Food & Grocery, health and beauty care, books, toys, gifts and many more items of daily use. Along with the malls, the Departmental stores are also getting a lot of popularity in India day by day.

Earlier the retail market was only very good in bigger and metro cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi etc. But nowadays even the smaller cities are responding very well to the retailing industry because of the shopping centers and malls where buyers can make a good shopping at reasonable prices as well as can have a great time with their family members.

    Booming Retail industry

The retail industry is spreading its roots all over India. In the larger cities like metros, retail industry is doing pretty well as the people opt to buy at malls. The retail sector is broadening its genres from clothing to food. There are many grocery outlets being opened at various places. No wonder they are also affecting the lower sections of society who eke out vending fruits and vegetables.

The retail Industry has introduced a new way of shopping, where one finds everything within one roof, at reasonable prices and that to at utter convince. The retail industry has also added wheels to our money by which the economic condition has been greatly accelerated. From normal to classy products and from regional to international stuff all are easily obtainable. The retail industry has also given a dynamic shift to the infrastructural setup of the country.

in the past, the retail stores were restricted to a common man ownership and there are quite few of them.but recently the top companies such as reliance, more, big bazaar have come up with shopping malls of retailing almost all the commodities essential in day to day life. this is not a good news to the retailers who have been doing business from past years as people throng these malls rather than buying stuff at those shops

the retail industry is witnessing the boom like never seen before. even MNCs like reliance, more, spencers, etc are spreading their roots in the country and increasing their number of outlets. this is causing great competition to the smaller retail shop and those business men would run out of competition eventually as there are big fishes in the market

since consumers are growing and places are becoming wider in area, the demands for retail shops is increasing. watching this growth in consumption, many big companies have opened their outlets by offering attractive showrooms with creating hypermarkets. people find it easy to shop all the items at one place instead of going to many places. retail industry is something which have come up very fast in recent days.

People of India are now-a-days becoming more and more shopaholic and for this reason the retail industry is witnessing a boom. Bigger companies are now taking part in retail markets and launching super markets and hyper markets as they are finding retail industry as the potential area to invest. Various shopping Malls are also being constructed in major cities as these cater almost all the needs of a basic market at one place.

The retail industry in India holds a lot of potential! The domestic investment itself is too high and if we get a FDI approval, the domestic products can be put into great use. There would be no wastage and the producers would get their rightful due! Do you agree with me that we should have FDI in retail?

Retail industry is booming in India in the recent times. It has spread all over the country and has reached even the remote areas today. It has added to a great extent in the economic growth of the nation. However, it is hampering the small business owners. I do not agree that we should have FDI in retail in India. It is going to hamper a lot of people who are dependent on small businesses for their bread and butter.

It is very much true that the retail Industry is flourishing in India. There are many retail stores coming up all over in India. This is also contributing towards the economic development of India. FDI in retail industry is not a very good idea, although it can help in economic growth of the nation. FDI in retail also has more adverse effects and can prove to be dangerous for the nation. It will hamper the small industries on which most of the the Indian are dependent upon for their living. Secondly, it will affect the agricultural industry to a great extent and the issue of unemployment will further increase.

There are many accounts that proves that the retail industry is booing in India and have seen a remarkable growth in the past 5 years and is expected to grow even more in the coming years. Today, people prefers retail stores and this made many giant brands open retail outlets. Moreover, retail industry has reached the rural areas and this is an evidence that the retail industry is thriving in India.
