Someone was stuck in a railway station. And waiting for a bicycle to carry him to home located at a distance of 20 kilometers as no motor vehicle was allowed to move. A rickshaw puller could not move out of home and earn his daily wage. Another man had to solemnize his marriage ceremony without any guest as no guest could come due to the bandh. Yes, millions of such incidents happened on the day when a Bharat Bandh was called upon by some political parties. The political parties have no right to harass the people of India who are already harassed by price rise. They parties should know that such a bandh cannot compel government to take some actions against price rise. The parties need some different modes of protest. A major city like Delhi may not be badly affected by this bandh. But many parts of India were severely affected. Life came to a standstill. In some parts of India, bandh has become a habit. Any organization on any occasion call for Bandh and harass the people. The bandh has become a medium to make a political platform. The people don’t come out during a bandh. It does not mean that they are supporting the bandh. They don’t come out because of fear. The moving vehicles are pelted stones by bandh supporters. Vehicles are set ablaze. And political parties proclaim that the people did not come out in the bandh as they support their cause. What a dirty politics!
I don't think it's just dirty politics... You are forgetting that the people who pelt stones are also people. Moreover, there are so many problems in India which could be solved if people just left this fear... Maybe it would help if we protested against these bandhs by coming out for a change. That'll show them we aren't cowards. That might also probably lead to a riot, but at least it'll be known that 'people' don't support the bandhs of political parties, and that hopefully will stop future Bharat bandhs. The political parties organize such bandhs only for publicity and votes. We are responsible for everything happening around. After all, this is a democracy and the people should rule.
Bharat bandh is a very common incident in our country. General strike day is like any other Sundays. The political parties often use the strike and they think that they will get solution by calling another bandh. Due to the strike there is loss in every sector like Economy, Information Technology industry, works in the offices and others. The common people will get another day when they do not have to rust to the work places and they will enjoy the day as another holiday.
A way of living In India strikes and bands are a way to present agitations against the government. A lot of people and work suffer due to this. But when you stay in India it becomes a way of life. Bandhs are seen as national holidays and you will find children taking up the streets with their cricket kits when it is called. This trend has to end.
bandh is not the solution All of us, including dhanist, knows that Bharat Bandh is not the solution of problems.This is only harassment to common man. But only those who suffered from this can only understand this.Let us begins the new India by not support the way to protest which in not at all in favor of common man.
By declaring Bharat Bandh, does not solve any problem, rather it gives birth to more complications. The political parties often increase their chances of gaining votes behind this agitation. They try to deceive people by showing that they care and understand their problem, but what they are unaware of is that their Bharat Bandh declaration creates more problems for them. These politician, who are supposed to be the torch bearers of our system do not realize the after effects of this event. They fail to see the losses that country and regular people go through while these kinds of protests, as they selfishly think about their motive.
the so called bandhs cause havocs during their period. people face lots of troubles during transportation and emergencies. ask the mother who have lost her child due to lack of means of transport due to so called "Bandh". our objectives are no way important than innocent lives which are claimed during these bandhs. we should protest against emergency transport blocks during bandhs.
i think bharat bandh is a peaceful way of protesting against any agenda but precaution needs to be taken to let the emergency transport and services remain functional as this is really costing lives. people under political pressure from various parties conduct these bandhs in violent manner which is highly uncalled for.
Though Bandhs cause a little trouble in our living, i think it is an effective way to protest for a cause. But i think emergency services like hospitals, traffic jams, fire police service etc should not be affected because many lives are lost due to lack of availability of these services. Bandhs can be more peaceful and effective if called with measures taken.
