Mard bano, Mardon wale kaam Karo. What do we actually mean when we say such things to a person who is surely doing something that contradicts his image of being a typical mard or a man. Well, Indian society has already much to say and convey about this concept of Mard. Gender issues and conflicts have much to do with the mard concept because this concept has laid down a foundation that purely supports and encourages Patriarchy in our society. Indian society has always been male dominated and leaded by the males in which Indian women have always been emerged as fighters. Being a Mard has meant a man of authority and dominance; the who who has full control over his family and the one who owns his wife. In fact, in the ancient and medieval times this image of being a typical married used to be too much firmed that has become little flexible with the modern times.

This concept has been one of the gender issues of our society that has created differences between men and women on the basis of their practical implications, actions, decisions and beliefs. Giving too much of authority and liberty to access that authority has sensitized this gender issues for many years in our society. However, not too many things have been changed, but, Now being a Mard is no more being a man who dominates and aggressive, but a man who understands the things wisely and who accepts women as equally competent and courageous. Especially the youth of today is now understood this thing very deeply and trying to revitalize this concept of being a Mard in a new framework according to which a Man no more forces but inspires and who no more oppress but supports the woman.
