I am nittur guru prasad, joined this Indian patriotic forums today. Namaste to all of you. I am very much proud of [my] our country, its culture and heritage and traditions. In the mean time i respect other country's culture and traditions. My worry or suspicion is are we the Bharatavasis, who are calling our selves as Indians at present are losing our culture fastly to the westrenisation. Because to the most we are not practicing our traditions and neglecting our heritage and left over partly by culture. Is it necessary for us to lost all these pride only due to modrenisation \ attraction to the non moral ethical behaviour in the name of empowering or great values etc. by the youth, ofcourse supported by our middle aged group. Can we regain our pride? Can we respect our selves?
What is culture? Culture is not a thin line on a stone that can never be changed. It should be one that should be adaptable by all without any questions in mind
nope india will always be clinging on to there culture no matter what But we need to move ahead Modernization is NOT bad it only helps us move with time we need to change with time wearing western cloths or buying western goods wont make us any less Indian we need to change with time just like our ancestors did
Culture is tend to change.. There is nothing called constant culture in the entire world. It keeps on changing and change here is inevitable
Change is the rule of world Culture is never lost...there are always some additions and subtractions. We talk about Indian culture, but can anyone define it. Our culture is actually an amalgamation of several cultures brought by foreign rulers who invaded the Indian subcontinent. So we need not fear of the new additions..its actually evolution.
We are'nt losing our culture but the difference is we are bit more inclined towards western culture and adapting it quite fast keeping the grounds of indian culture in our roots..
yes you are right.... we should not give up our culture for only small mater...like i am here in Philippines, some of my friends start eating meat. before in India, they were pure vegetarian, and even they were praying cow also, but now they are not thinking anything, sometimes they are eating beef (meat of cow) also. they are just eating only because they like it now... its big tragedy that people of western countries are now going to be vegetarian and they are practicing Yog also but now our native people are ignoring it... when some one from India will practice ethnical method than people will laugh,, but that method is proven by some USA scientist than people will accept it proudly..why some of Indian are under estimating ourselves, why some people are loosing their culture. why they are loosing their self respect???
Are we losing our culture? We know change is constant and to move on we have to accept these changes. There is no harm in accepting changes, but if they are affecting the values for which Indian has always earned decree, then this is surely a matter of concern. However, people of our nation today say that they value their cultural and heritage, but the present generation are founding it hard to follow and so they are shedding the layers of our ethnic values, which is resulting in loss of our cultural richness.
it is not that we are losing our ethical and cultural values completely, but we are adopting western culture to some extent. there is no hope that our culture will completely perish but there may be new cultures evolved which will be amalagamate of indian and western cultures. we should try to be little cautious of letting go off our ethical values which are needed to stick to our culture.
We are loosing culture. We are adopting wrong things, inappropriate notions. We are just making show of our rich heritage, but loosing its principle base.
to be precise, yes to an extent we are losing our cultural aspects. we were once rich in our own traditions but now with this so called modernization, indians are adopting the western culture. and with this the indian culture seems to be vanishing into the dark and days are not far that it would be at peril. we must preserve our culture for generations together.
I think it is better that we Indians are forgetting our culture, this will lead to a true India, What is there in Indian culture tons and tons of superstitions, Caste discrimination, is this what we are proud of Indian culture.
we are on that track of losing our culture but we havent lost it yet. but days are not too far that indian culture would be just left to be read in books and on internet and it would become more of an ancient thing to the people. it the youth who must realize what culture they are taking up and what they are doing to our own culture. it is really a topic of debate and discussion which must be done between todays youth.
