Is the Congress Lead Indian Government justified in dividing Andhra Pradesh and creating Telangana ? Is it fair to divide Andhra Pradesh ?
A black cloud is spreading over Indian politics due to sudden splitting up Andhra, an important state of our country Though demand of Telengana as a separate state is more than fifty years old still this sudden decision of dividing Andhra by center has created a grave situatiion not only in Andhra but also all over India. The decision of the centre has , no doubt, satisfied the supporters of Telengana but it has imported a lot of very critical questions . If Telengana becomes a separate state, Hydrabad and many other places for which different parties have been carrying on movement for their separate state, can not be ignored. All these parties will exert tremendous pressure over U.P.A government to establish their demand of separate state. But it is not easy to make a separate state in such a short time. It is a long term process .The U.P.A.government, so far I believe, will meet the different parties to collect their valuable opinions before finalize their decision of creating a new state,Telengana. Let us wait to see the consequences.
Why Telangana???????-- this mail is partial answer for the question. Why Telangana???????-- this mail is partial answer for the question. Hi, Whenever the topic of Telangana is raised, many of us blindly support Andhra or Telangana based on where we come from. Not sure how many really think of why the demand for separate state has been there for such a long time. The 2 major reasons why the demand has been pending for so many years is WATER AND HYDERABAD. People around the state have earned and invested in and around Hyderabad so there is a concerns about the safety of the investment if the state is separated while both the major rivers in our state flow mostly through Telangana. Below are some facts that are few reasons for the demand. Sentiments can be foolish but not facts. a. There are 10 districts in Telangana, 9 in Andhra and 4 in Rayalaseema. Out of these 7 districts in Telangana, 3 in Andhra and 1 in Rayalaseema are considered severely backward districts which means 70% of districts in Telangana are backward while in Andhra it is 35% and in Rayalaseema it is 25%. Apart from these there are some areas in all parts of the state which are also backward. b. 45% of the state income comes from Telangana region. When it comes to utilization of funds, the share of Telangana is only 28%. c. Normally canals are dug to supply water to the crops from rivers for cultivation. The amount of land cultivated through canals in just Guntur district is more than the land cultivated with canals in entire Telangana region. d. Nagarjuna sagar dam is built in Nalgonda district which is in Telangana but majority of the water from the dam is used for Krishna and Guntur district. The original dam was supposed to be build much ahead of its present location but the location was changed so that it falls in the Telangana region. Due to the construction of the dam several hectares of Lime stone mines vanished as part of the dam back waters. Everyone know that lime stone is used for producing cement. Even the natural resources were not allowed to remain. e. Fluorinated water problem is only in Nalgonda district which has not been resolved since decades. f. Two major rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra enter the state of AP in the district of Mahaboobnagar( the biggest district in Telangana) but the district always remains the worst draught hit areas along with Anantapur because there is no project and process with which the water can be utilized. The plans for utilization has been pending for decades. g. RDS (Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme) is build in Mahaboobnagar to provide water to 85000 hectares of land in the district. The leaders of Rayalaseems blasted the gates of RDS and water is supplied to KC (Kurnool-Cudapah) canal while only remaining water, if any, is supplied to the lands in Mahaboobnagar. h. 3 TMC of water from Gandipet is sufficient to supply drinking water to our city. Every year 1700 TMC of water is wasted and is flown into Bay of Bengal from river Godavari . Starting from Nizambad to Bay of Bengal there is no project allowed to build on Godavari . If it is built leaders in Godavari districts fear that the fertile lands in the area may fall short of water. If the Godavari water is utilized properly, there will be no scarcity for food grains in our state. i. In Telangana regions, only few areas cultivate one crop a year and very rarely two crops a year while most of the land doesn’t even cultivate single crop. In both the Godavari districts, Krishna and Guntur district, two crops a year is common and there are times where even 3 crops a year are cultivated. The only reason is WATER. j. Government issue G.O.’s for implicating its decisions. G.O number 610 is the longest non implicated G.O in the history of AP. The G.O was issued in 1986 by late NTR who was then the CM of AP, which is not yet implicated. The G.O speaks about the share of Telangana employees in Government jobs in Telangana region. k. 33% of the population in Mahaboobnagar district have left the district for livelihood to different parts of the state due to draught and majority of them are working as daily labour. No other district has so many people who fled the home place due to lack of livelihood and working as daily labour. l. There are 25 plus government degree colleges in Krishna, Kadapa and Guntur district while there is not even a single government degree college in Ranga Reddy district. m. Dairy development corporation of AP purchases milk from farmers across the state for distribution. For the same milk, in Andhra, the government pay Rs. 24 to the farmers and in Telangana they pay Rs. 22 per litre. Partiality is shown even in milk J n. In between 2005-2008 government sold lands worth Rs. 20000 crores in and around Hyderabad which was utilized to build projects in Rayalaseema and Andhra. o. Not even a single project was completed in Telangana in the last 5 years while several projects were completed in Andhra and Rayalaseema. Not just Telangana but areas of Northern Andhra , Prakasham and parts of Rayalaseema are still backward. The state needs to progress as a unit. People are suffering across the state and they need a solution. Nobody wants a split in the state but when the people of one region are constantly humiliated and denied of what they should be getting, such demands keep coming. Let us show maturity in understanding social problems keeping aside the sentiments.
anyone has answer for this??? United we stand... divided we fall... is it wrong... Divide and rule is whose policy... its the Britishers and then KCR's. if there is a division in state... who is going to benefit the more... the common man,,,,, or TRS ?? why KCR has not done hunger strike for the reservoirs in Telangana,,, for the sake of 610 G.O., or at least for the development of a common poor man or a farmer in telangana before when he is in power???? may be he had not seen them before?? is there is any chance that the naxalites can use telangana if it divides... may be as they are supporting for it?? if the state divides... what about the state taxes and road taxes for goods that travel from telangana border to andhra border and andhra border to telangana border... who is going to bear this taxes... KCR??? or common man of Andhra Pradesh?? it is a recession time.... if companies goes away from hyderabad... then the bloody IT employee will fall down.... He is not alone is going to fall... his consuming power decreases,,, automatically businesses gets down... affect on business makes the employees of that business suffer... related business also starts to come down... is it good,,,, then what about the food KCR... does only water can give food????? does KCR do not know this... i dont think so.. as he got a goooood vision.... dont broke the consumer chain and take us into a greatest depression of recession is andhra is going to suffer if telangana divides from it... andhra alone or telangana alone.,,,,, may be not much.. they can recover within 10 years to normal state,,, but what about rayalaseema people.... is andhra and telangana people are no way dependent on rayalaseema people.... may be not,,,,as we are social animals.. we depend on one another... did KCR want to make the rayalaseema area like Zimbambwe.. the LEADER is confied to only region here... its not a good sight in politics... he has to think about all the people.... and their welfare.... have to fight for the all round development of the common man.... not for the separation of states... United we stand... divided we falll............... Divide and rule is Britisher's policy Think with your mind and do with your heart
Example of inefficient leader. This is pure example of inefficient leader controlling the state. There is no peace in the state. CM is not in position to control the mob 300 bus, private property and many more lost. KCR says don't arrest the innocent people. Leave them alone and they will make the state like graveyard. What a human being he is. He will be remembered as the most coward human being ever born on telugu land. Look at the politicians each one of them are worried about their positions/seats (without bothered about the pride of the state). If the state is split into 2 or 3 or 4 (we don't know, I think clever manmohan will keep us united, I believe he mind his words in his speech celebrating 125yrs of congress, If he does, I will vote congress for the rest of my life) we will loose the majority in the parliament. Will have to fight/beg for the new projects with the center. They can't get with 42 MP's now. What the heck they will get with less number of them. My dream of Hyderabad and state will be lost. with all the investors running away, already seeing cine industry in doldrums, IT is skeptical again all of IT employees have to go to other state and work there. So all the depended service sector will be lost. Everybody knows the reason why certain telangana areas can't have irrigation projects because they are way above the sea level and the lift irrigation will be expensive than producing the crops. So the situation will continue even the state is split. We have to look for other alternatives to improve them. Concentrate on service sector, textile industry etc. Wake up my brothers, our dreams of andhrapradesh can be achived by staying united but can never be achieved by breaking up. Cunning politicians are using innocent people to acheive their positions. you are not breaking the states, you are breaking the people and their feelings, look at the history, no one has acheived success by splitting(Germany, russia etc) United we Stand, divide we all will fall.
We should not go for the Splitting up fo Andhra Pradesh. Its quite hard to reunite people. It will be better to do some revolutionary action on the incident. people responsible for this incident should be taken in interrogation and steps should be taken to verify that this might not happen in near future again
Breaking up That’s what will be the future of each and every state if serious control is not taken over. This time the activists are asking for their separate state. Up north, the Kashmiris want freedom. This is all the result of the lack of attention of core issues. Every time a group feels deprived, we can’t just provide them a separate state. Examples are bound to follow once such a thing happens.
well this is very sensitive case as diving the large state which is united would cause lots of problems to the existing people. the people living in northern andhra have their assets in telangana and division could cause problems to them. apart from this there would be a row over hyderabad too. the government is hesitating in taking decision as situation remains grim.
things are getting sour in context of andhra and telangana. this issue seems to be very brittle as many people are against the division of the state as this would lose its integrity which has been maintained over the years. i think it is more of political issue than a public issue as the people of telangana want development of their territory rather than division of the state.
