Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most auspicious festivals of the Hindus and it falls during the Month of Vaishakh. This festival is also celebrated as Akha Teej or Navanna Parvam. The festival signifies glory and prosperity and is believed that any deal done during this period is always successful and prosperous. The festival marks the buying and wearing of gold jewelry by the women folk as it signifies the coming of Goddess Lakhmi.

The day of Akshaya Tritiya is marked by offering puja to various deities, taking bath in holy rivers, making charity, offering barley to the fire. People spray Tulsi water to the idols of various deities and every puja has their own significance.
