Adoni is the commercial center of Andhra Pradesh and is renowned for textile mills. The city is situated in the Kurnool district and has a rich history associated with it. The city is an ancient city whose existence dates back to the age of the Ramayana and has mythological tales are related to it. It is believed that Lord Ram during his Vanawas had visited this place. The city is renowned for arts and crafts and is also known as Town of Cotton or Grain Market of South India. The city was ruled by several rulers and this is evident from the forts present in the city as well as the ruins of some forts are found here which attracts a horde of tourists from various parts of the World. The major attractions of the city comprises of temples, forts, wells, mosques, etc. Some of the major attractions include Venkanna Bavi, Jumma Masjid, Sri Mahayogi Laxmamma Avva Temple, Ranamandala Konda, Adoni fort and Kaman Bavi.
