Republic day is celebrated to commemorate the date when the Constitution of India, which is considered as the Supreme law of the land was adopted. On the 26th of January, 1950, India was declared as the Sovereign, Secular and Democratic Republic country. On this very day, we get an opportunity to pay homage to the soldiers of our nation, who sacrificed their lives to safe guard the nation from alien forces. On this day, the Prime Minister of our nation lays a bouquet at Amar Jawan Jyoti, which is at the India Gate along with a silent tribute by the spectators to pay tribute to the soldiers.
Owing to our busy life, we do not get the opportunity to thank and pay tribute to our great heroes who sacrificed their lives while safeguarding our nation. However, we are fortunate that on the Republic day, we get a chance to remember our soldiers and pay tribute to them for their sacrifice to keep us save. On this day, let us all remember the heroes of our nation and salute them for their deeds.
