A Question to all Indians

    I am proud of being an Indian. I cannot help it; it is my makeup, my being. I
    remember picking up and bringing home a torn telephone calling card from the
    road next to the dust bin becuase I saw part of 'Tiranga' on it. I am sure I am
    not the only one and there are many more. However, recent events fill me with pain.

    No so long ago, a very prominent judicial person who headed some enquiry that lasted 20 odd years when being interviewed by media in some garden, probably his own, became agitated and used nothing but 4 letter words. And, I asked myself,'is this guy really a high ranking member of judiciary? For his language matched that of a street thug?' And, last week I read about District magistrate Amit Kumar slapping an employee because he dared ask him for an ID - just in case anyone did not see it, here is the link;

    Lucknow DM slaps govt employee

    I could understand him loosing cool, although not acceptable or condoned, if he was not asked for his ID.

    With these prime examples of 'gutter level' judiciary;

    How can we expect justice?
    How can we check terrorism?
    How can we be united?
    Do the 'high ranks' not think 'low ranks' are Indians?
    Do these people even think what image they portray of India in the West?
    Are we supposed to be proud of these people?

    More importantly, why does India society not condemn this sort of behavior?

    Absolutely, revolting.

    If you want to know what I would have done? I would have rammed a fist on his face, given him a bloody nose, knocked of a few teeth and then pleaded
    self defense on an unprovoked attack and have him charged with abstracting an official in executing his normal duties.

    'I do not do injustice and do not tolerate injustice' May my God always
    guide and protect me.

    What did you actually mean to ask?

    More importantly, why does India society not condemn this sort of behavior?
    - Society condemns it, this is the reason you know it.

    Dude, seriously, all these questions you have asked - you should have asked yourself.

    Good for you if this is what you believe in.

    Reservation – is it necessary all the way?

    My question deals with the problem of reservation. From the primary level itself enough support is given to the backward classes. They have the facility of free education and various others. But when it comes to the higher levels..say for the position of an IAS officer, should reservation still continue? We need the best to the job at this level, so the only factor to be considered is quality and qualification. What do you say?

    i dont think that we all indians do not condemn such acts. but its just that most of us are unaware and lack courage to go against such law breaking people. when the people who are to provide justice to us are of such level how can we expect justice from such people. so are the standards of our judicial system which i think should be ashamed of being called "judicial" system

    many of us are unaware of such acts and people who witness such acts cannot dare intervene because the officials are of high cadre and common man is nothing in front of them. here media should play an important role in bringing out such facts to the vigilant authorities so that the accused can be prosecuted.
