Indians Love bollywood and We all like watching movies, there have been numerous of Hindi movies being produced so far in our Bollywood but some movies are truly remarkable and have left deep impressions on our mind. Different movies have been made with varied screenplays and stories; such stories which we find to be very much close to our real lives and hearts and there are some which are based on real life events, which are uncertainly unforgettable. Bollywood has also produced some of the great patriotic movies which have not only reaped a huge amount of money and a big number of audiences but also touched the hearts of all of us, those movies are tough to forget, and the way the feelings, emotions and events were presented and emoted in those movies is immensely commendable. And moreover the feelings of brotherhood, harmony, perseverance, compassion for the country and patriotism were beautifully acted in those movies that made them so real and authentic.

Border (1997)
This was a phenomenal movie in the history of India cinema; it was directed and produced by J.P Dutta in the year 1997. This movie was based on the real life event of the war of Longewala, battled in Rajasthan during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971 and Bangladesh Liberation War. The movie starred many of the famous actors including Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Khanna, Sunil Shetty and others who enacted in the movie; the battalion of 120 soldiers of Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army and who battled with the Pakistani Army consisting of over 2000 soldiers; having war tanks and ammunitions. This battalion was headed by Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri who showed his commendable leadership and tried best to safeguard the post of the Indian army against the constant firing and attack from the Pakistani Army. The movie depicted the sheer bravery of the Indian soldiers who despite of so much of hurdles and lack of ammunitions maintained to fight from the enemy. Even today, if we see the movie it refreshes and enlivens that battle in our mind. This movie successfully presented the deep love and regard for the motherland in the hearts of our Indian soldiers that they gave up their lives in the battlefield without having any second thought because they could not tolerate to see their motherland being exploited by the enemies.
Lakshay (2004)
The movie was directed by the actor cum director; Farhan Akhtar and starred Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Amitabh Bacchan and Bomen Irani. This was another movie based on the Kargil war with the Pakistani troop. The movie beautifully depicts that how does a boy with no aim in his life finally end up setting his Goal or Lakshay in his life when he joins the Indian Military Academy. Hrithik played the role of; Lieutenant Karan Shergill (later promoted to Captain), his life completely changes after when he joins the Indian Army, he then finds out what he wants to do in his life and his deepest pores of love and respect for the motherland finally open out. He got posted in the 3rd battalion of the Punjab Regiment that was commanded by Col. Sunil Damle (enacted by Amitabh Bacchan) in the Kargil area. Karan Shergill successfully led his troop of 12 men to achieve victory over Pakistani troops and to get back the Indian posts. This was a wonderful as well as an inspiring movie for the young generation.
Chak De India (2007)
The movie was directed by Shimit Amin and was produced under the Yash Raj Banner. Movie was starred Sharukh Khan who played the role of Captain Kabir Khan the former captain of the Indian Hockey Team. Movie had a commendable screenplay and storyline that intensely depicted that how does the life of a captain drastically changes when he was banished from playing hockey because, due to his carelessness the team had to face a serious loss to Pakistani Hockey Team. He then had to face a lot of anguish of his neighbours and other people; who supposed to find him biased and guilty of losing the team’s victory because he was originally a Pakistani. But Kabir never felt him departed from his motherland India and always believed that he had always played solely in the name of India. He then tried to reshuffle his life and became the captain of India Women Hockey Team. The end is just so inspiring and emotional and fills the audience with much of compassion for the country. Kabir succeeds at the end and the women’s hockey team wins the world cup and at last everyone realizes that Kabir Khan was a real Indian who loved his country and was completely devoted.
Purab Pachim (1980)
The movie was both directed and produced by actor Manoj Kumar, other main actors were Saira Bano, Pran, Prem Chopra and others. It is a movie that depicts one’s persistent faith in the Indian values. Manoj Kumar in the role of Bharat tries to invoke the true Indian values, patriotism and compassion for the motherland in the hearts of the westernized people who once belonged to India. The whole movie is an eye catcher that presents the charisma and simplicity of Bharat and posed him as a true patriot.
Haqeqat (1995)
Movie was directed by Chetan Anand and starring Balraj Sahni, Dharmendra, Sanjay Khan, Vijay Anand and Priya Rajvansh. Movie was awarded as the second best feature film in 1965 and won the National Film Award it was based on the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The movie presented the heroic and great enthusiasm of the small platoon of Indian Army soldiers who gave up their lives in the name of the country. “Kar chale hum fida jaan aur tan saathiyon” is one of the most popular patriotic songs and among the other songs of this movie.
Shaheed (1965)
This movie was basically based on the real life of Bhagat Singh the great freedom fighter of India. It was directed by S Ram Sharma and produced by Kewal Kshyap. It was a complete patriotic movie that depicted the Pre Independence Indian Movement during which the great freedom fighters; Chandra Shekhar Aazad, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were highly active and enthusiastic to attain freedom for the nation. Manoj Kumar played Bhagat Singh, Prem Chopra played Sukhdev and Anant Marathe played Rajguru. Movie included highly spirited songs written by one of the freedom fighters; Ram Prasad Bismil. At the 13th National Film Awards this movie won the award for the best feature film in Hindi.
I Proud to be an Indian (2004)
This was both written and directed by Puneet Sira and produced by actor Sohail Khan. Movie was based on the Racism and prejudices taking place against the Asians based in London. The lead actor of the movie was the central figure since he had a true heart of an Indian who sees everyone as the same. In his perception everyone is equal and he is ever ready to fight against the prejudices and even crimes committed against the innocent Asian people who become the victim of racism and prejudices committed by few of the cruel Britishers. The hero of the movie raises his voice and when it was not enough he also fought with the bad people who wished to prolong their bias and barbaric ideologies.
Rang De Basanti (2006)
The screenplay of the movie was written by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra and directed by him only. The casting was quite fresh and different as it includes Aamir Khan, Soha Ali, R.Madhavan, Siddharth Narayan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor, Atul Kulkarni and a British actress Alice Patten. This is certainly a movie that turned out to be a fresh feast for the youngsters or the Indian youth. In fact the youth were very well able to connect to the message that was intended to be conveyed through this movie. This movie excellently made a parallelism between the story of the freedom fighters that fought against the cold-blooded Britishers in the pre-independence era and tried to form a new system for the country and also the story of the contemporary young individuals who are also struggling with the social, political and economic issues of the country in the present time. The message was clearly conveyed to the youth that either they accept the problems as they are or they stand up and fight against the issues that our country is facing.
Mangal Pandey The Rising (2005)
The movie was directed by Ketan Mehta and was based on the true life story of an Indian soldier; Mangal Pandey who had played a great role in the Indian revolution of 1857. The role of Mangal Pandey was enacted by the versatile actor Aamir Khan with other leading actors Rani Mukherjee, Amisha Patel and British actor Toby Stephens (who played the role of British commanding officer William Gordon). This movie clearly depicted the bravest acts of Mangal Pandey who was basically a Sepoy in the Army of East India Company; he was supposed to ignite the spark of Revolution among the other soldiers of the Army. His rebel actions stimulated The First War of Indian Independence in 1857 and that is why he has been known as the Sepoy Rebel.
Lagaan (2001)
It was written and directed by actor turned director Ashutosh Govarikar, the casting was fabulous and it was indeed one of its kind; movie. Starring Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, with British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthrone and other versatile Indian actors the movie became an epic sports drama in the Indian cinema. It was based on the story of a small village of Champaner situated in the state of Gujrat. screenplay of the movie was highly impressive, unique and successful that depicted the strong feelings of the poor Indian villagers to achieve freedom and independence from the sluggish and cruel system of lagan or land rent that they had to pay to the British government ruling India during the year 1893. Bhuvan’s acceptance of the Captain Andrew Russell’s challenge to play the cricket match was quite appreciable this shows that how intelligent and confident a true Indian is! Bhuvan’s sheer faith in his team mates and in his self is commendable, the movie not only shows the period of British rule in India but also the strong urge within the Indians to break off the dull and merciless rules of the British government being imposed on them.
Upkaar (1967)
Movie was directed by actor Manoj Kumar that accorded him appreciation and popularity. The movie was based on the story of two brothers (younger brother’s role played by Prem Chopra), Bharat being the elder brother wanted his younger brother to attain higher education, and he wanted that his younger brother becomes a man of values but destiny chose another way for him. While Bharat was off to the war that took place between India and Pakistan in the year 1965, the younger brother tried to fulfil his selfish motives and began to follow a wrong way of bluffing and black marketing. Bharat came back with the accolades of triumph but the younger brother had to face the consequences of his wrong doings thus he was finally caught by the police. At the end the true hearted Bharat had not only won the battle for the motherland but he also won the battle of his life struggles because at the end his younger brother feels immensely guilty for all his wrong doings and takes the vow to become a good person like his elder brother Bharat.
The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002)
the movie was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi starred Ajay Devgan, Sushant Singh and D.Santosh. It was an Indian historical biographical drama that was based on the true life story of the great freedom fighter; Bhagat Singh. This movie elaborately depicted that how and when did the spark of revolution against the British rule originate in Bhagat Singh’s heart and how did he fight and carry on his struggles to help the motherland to attain freedom. The movie was a National Award Winner and also won the Best feature film award, three Film fare awards and Critic award for the Best Movie.
The aforesaid movies would always remain unforgettable, they have touched the hearts of the people and have amazingly demonstrated the true Indian values, virtues, high spirit of the Indians and regards for the country.
